Abstract

The study aimed to determine the adequacy of instructional materials and the varieties of teaching strategies, which is the basis for improving teaching performance. It was conducted at Core Gateway College, Inc., during the 1st Semester School Year 2023 – 2024. The study's respondents were 103 Basic Education and College Department faculty. A descriptive correlational research design was used in the study. Data gathered were interpreted and analyzed using statistical tools such as frequency count, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. Pearson Product Moment Correlation (r) was used to determine the relationship between two variables.  The respondents’ ages ranged from 21 – 61 years old and above, with a mean of 30.01 and a standard deviation of 10.04; females, single, bachelor’s degree, had been in the organization for less than five years, earning a monthly salary of 12,000 – 14,000. The respondents rated the adequacy of instructional materials as adequate. Findings revealed that the varieties of teaching strategies of the respondents were described as always. Moreover, the teaching performance of the respondents was rated as outstanding. Results showed that efficiency of outputs, adherence to school policies, and instructional competence were significantly correlated with the adequacy of instructional materials.   Further, the teaching strategies of the respondents were highly significantly associated with their teaching performance in terms of efficiency of output, adherence to school policies, attitude toward the school supervisor, instructional competence, teamwork attitude, professional attitude toward colleagues, and student-teacher relationship.
