MADALI O MABUTI?: ISANG SIKOLOHIKAL NA PAGDULOG SA PELIKULANG “SEKLUSYON” NI ERIK MATTI

Abstract

 Studying Filipino film appreciation, students aim to deepen
their understanding of one's culture, practice communication, analyze
social issues, and promote art, culture, and education. This research was
conducted to examine the movie "Seklusyon" by Erik Matti through
Psychological Theory (Psycho-Analysis). Qualitative content analysis
includes research to explore and determine how a person's experience
affects their decision-making. Literary analysis was used in this study,
and based on film explorations, the most dominant theme or topic was
being aware of the times of darkness and what was genuinely false. The
psychological significance of the film's protagonists, Miguel and
Anghela Sta. Ana, while the Seclusion place itself, is the House of Sta.
Ana and the Convent made up the movie's three (3) settings. The
symbolism presented in the film is the black liquid from Anghela, the
sudden cut of Miguel's rosary, the wood that Father Ricardo found
about Anghela's true personality, the stab that Miguel used on Anghela,
and Anghela itself. The experiences in a person's life affect their choices
and the defense mechanisms they use to avoid them. These were shown
in the theme, each character, and the settings. It appeared that the
effectiveness of the analysis was acceptable, as was the development of
the module, which can be said to be effective and meaningful for the
students. The researcher made an analysis and an evaluation of the
analysis. A questionnaire was developed, which was answered by five
(5) teachers (one Head Teacher and two Master Teachers) at Caanawan
National High School, and the result was sufficient because it obtained
a total of 3.95. The researcher developed a module from film analysis
that would aid learning for Grade 11 students in response to an
instructional deficit
